What you need to know about Meta AI + 10 use cases with ChatGPT Voice Mode

Meta AI Boosts The Content Creation Game

In Meta Connect 2024, Meta AI has rolled out new updates to “become the most-used AI assistant in the world by the end of this year.” Most media are focusing on the launch of Orion, the augmented reality glasses, which is Meta's most advanced attempt yet at bringing augmented reality to a glasses form factor with holographic displays, hand and eye tracking, and a wrist-based neural interface.

You can learn more about Orion in the below news section. However, I personally want to highlight in this edition the other Meta AI updates that can more directly and immediately influence how you work and use social media in your daily life. Here are some of those:

• Meta AI with Voice: Meta AI can now understand and respond to voice commands across Meta's apps, including Messenger, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. You can select from a variety of AI-generated celebrity voices, including Awkwafina, Dame Judi Dench, John Cena, Keegan Michael Key, and Kristen Bell.
• Photo Integration: Users can share photos with Meta AI, which can analyze the image and answer questions about it. 
• AI Image Editing: Meta AI can edit images based on user instructions, such as replacing backgrounds and changing outfits.
• AI Background Generation: Meta AI can create backgrounds for Instagram Stories based on the content of photos shared from a user's feed.4
• Automatic Video Dubbing: Meta is testing an AI-powered translation tool that automatically translates the audio of Reels and simulates lip-sync, starting with English and Spanish.
• AI Story Captions: Meta AI can suggest captions for Facebook and Instagram stories.
• AI-Generated Feed Content: Meta is putting AI-generated images in Facebook and Instagram feeds based on user's interests and current trends. Users will have the option to customize the content with suggested prompts.
• AI for Business Messaging: Meta is rolling out AI tools for businesses that utilize click-to-message ads on WhatsApp and Messenger. These AI tools will enable businesses to automate customer service, provide product information, and facilitate transactions.
• Generative AI Ad Tools: Meta reports that businesses that used the tools saw an 11% increase in click-through rates and a 7.6% increase in conversion rates.

Meta AI is now available in 22 countries (that being said, I’m crying in the EU). We look forward to seeing how these updates practically influence users’ experience when widely adopted.

Ideas to try with ChatGPT Voice Mode

Last week, OpenAI rolled out Advanced Voice Mode for Plus and Team users (except for UK and EU). I know it’s natural, but am still impressed at how natural the conversation is. If you haven’t already, download ChatGPT on your phone and look for the headphone icon in the chat box. 

Here are some ideas to start your interaction with Advanced Voice Mode:

• “Can you help me practice French by learning about daily conversations?”
• "Help me brainstorm a list of blog post ideas related to [topic]."
• "Help me practice for a job interview by asking me common interview questions and providing feedback on my answers."
• “Ask me questions about the documents I uploaded to prepare me for the upcoming performance review.”
• “Give me feedback on the coming presentation and model how it can be improved, focusing on vocabulary, speed, and tone.”
• "Lead me through an interactive brainstorming session to come up with new ideas for my project."
• "Quiz me on vocabulary related to [specific topic] and correct my pronunciation."
• "Give me a scenario where I have to solve a problem and guide me through thinking aloud."
• "Ask me to explain a technical concept I know in simple terms to improve clarity in communication."
• "Guide me through a role-play scenario where I negotiate a business deal."
