Google + Slack = Zoom Workplace

Remember how you could only use Zoom to hop on a meeting and close the app immediately after the meeting ends? Now it’s officially a distant past. Say hello to the latest updates of Zoom Workplace.

The new name says it all. Zoom Workplace is no longer an app to have meetings, but a place to collaborate with your team members, chat, schedule meetings, share editable documents, brainstorm ideas with chart templates, and send short clips of yourself to the team. 

Here are all you need to know about Zoom Workplace:

Features Available to All Users:

• New Multi-Speaker View: Automatically adapts video layouts to feature active speakers in Zoom Meetings, improving engagement.
• Document Collaboration: Users can co-edit third-party documents directly in meetings​.
• Team Chat Enhancements: Split view to boost productivity by allowing simultaneous collaboration and chat​.
• AI Summaries: Continuous meeting chat will now include automatic summaries from AI Companion​.
• Integration with external apps: Quickly integrate productivity apps such as Kahoot, Miro, or Figma into your workflow on Zoom. 

Features for Pro (Paid) Users:

• AI Companion: Offers multi-language support and features like thread summaries, message drafting, and quick scheduling in Zoom Team Chat​.
• Zoom Phone AI: Includes real-time call summaries and personalized voicemail greetings tailored to the user’s schedule.
• Zoom Clips (free users can create 5 clips): Allows users to ​record videos for walkthroughs or send a message to the team, with background and avatars available.

Features Coming Soon:

• AI Companion 2.0 (2025): This will bring expanded contextual understanding, synthesis of information across multiple apps, and real-time web-based information retrieval. It will also track and complete actions based on user conversations​.
• Custom AI Companion Add-On (2025): For $12/month per user, organizations will be able to tailor the AI with custom dictionaries, and integrate third-party apps like Jira, Workday, and more​.

The star of this announcement of AI Companion 2.0 is the tailored AI avatar for Zoom Clips. Users can generate customized avatars that act as their digital representation, enabling them to send pre-recorded video messages without multiple takes. 

The avatar leverages AI to mimic the user’s voice and appearance, allowing businesses or individuals to generate video clips from scripts with a personalized touch. This is especially useful for businesses to scale their video communications without constantly recording live footage. 

This huge update is considered a step closer to the Zoom CEO’s ambition to let your AI twin attend meetings for you. Albeit the hype, this feature raises concerns regarding the deepfake and disinformation risks.

9. "I uploaded a document with code snippets and error messages from my web app. Can you organize the errors and suggested fixes into a checklist, categorized by severity and code section?"
10. “I uploaded my current code and the assignment requirements. Can you help me break it down and guide me step by step to qualify for all the code requirements?"
